IIQE Exam Structure
The IIQE (Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination) is administered by the Vocational Training Council (VTC). It is a mandatory qualification exam for individuals engaged in insurance intermediary activities in Hong Kong.

MPFE Exam Structure

- Questions: 50 multiple-choice questions
- Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes
- Pass Mark: 70%
Registration Details
IIQE Registration
- 1.Register an account on the VTC PEAK official website
- 2.Select the exam paper and preferred date
- 3.Pay the exam fee (approximately HK$500-$600 per paper)
- 4.Bring your identification documents to the exam venue
MPFE Registration
- 1.Visit the HKSI official website (www.hksi.org)
- 2.Register through the e-Booking system
- 3.Pay the exam fee

What is the IIQE exam?
The IIQE is the Insurance Intermediaries Qualifying Examination. Anyone who wishes to carry out insurance intermediary activities in Hong Kong (including insurance agents and brokers) must pass the relevant IIQE papers.
Which IIQE papers do I need to take?
All insurance intermediaries must pass Paper 1 (Principles and Practice of Insurance). If you deal in general insurance, you also need Paper 2; for long-term insurance, Paper 3; and for investment-linked long-term insurance, Paper 5.
What is the difference between MPFE and IIQE?
The IIQE is for insurance intermediaries and is administered by VTC, while the MPFE is for MPF intermediaries and is administered by HKSI. They are separate qualifying exams, and the one you need depends on your intended business activity.
